NautilusTalk Privacy Policy
Revision date: 2026-10-29
1. Scope
This policy applies to NautilusTalk (鹦鹉螺口语), developed by Tiny Network. The app uses OpenAI for AI conversations, translation, hints and evaluation. These online features require sending relevant content to OpenAI.
2. Text sent to OpenAI
AI conversations send your typed or transcribed text, the current practice scenario and context used to continue the conversation. Translation sends the text to translate and target language. Hints send the current scenario, hint request and relevant conversation context. Evaluation sends the answer text and relevant practice context to generate language feedback. Avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information in practice content.
3. Speech recognition and recordings
Speech recognition converts microphone audio into text. This is a separate processing step from sending text to OpenAI for AI features. The speech recognition provider, processing location and audio retention rules have not been confirmed. This policy does not promise that all speech recognition takes place on the device. Locally saved recordings and transcribed text sent to AI are distinct: local recording storage does not mean that transcribed text stays local.
4. Developer and third-party retention
The developer does not retain conversation records or audio on its own servers. This does not mean that OpenAI or the speech recognition provider does not process or retain data. OpenAI processes requests to provide the AI features above and may retain relevant data for safety and abuse monitoring. Specific retention, application state storage and training use depend on the endpoint and account configuration. OpenAI states that API content is not used for training by default unless the customer opts in. Default abuse monitoring logs may be kept for up to 30 days, with legal or safety exceptions; some endpoints also store application state. These are OpenAI’s general rules. The app’s specific retention periods and training settings have not been confirmed, so we do not promise zero third-party retention or exclusion from training.
5. Local data and deletion
Conversation records, recordings and practice data may be stored on your device; retention of local copies is separate from third-party processing. To remove the app and its local data on iOS, use Settings → General → iPhone Storage → NautilusTalk → Delete App. Offload App keeps documents and data. Manage and delete exported files and device or iCloud backups separately where they are stored. Deleting local copies does not automatically delete data already processed or retained by third parties. Contact the email below for assistance.
6. Purchases and privacy requests
Apple App Store processes subscriptions and in-app purchases; the developer does not receive your payment card details. If you contact support, we use your email address and the information you provide to respond. Do not send unrelated recordings or full conversations. You may ask about data processing or request help deleting information you submitted to support.
